Emergency

For some of us, the bathroom is considered a private sanctuary, a place to relax and rewind after a hard day, and it's important that we try and make it as comfortable and inviting as possible. Unfortunately there are times when things can go wrong in the bathroom, and when they do, it's usually an emergency. One of the most unsettling things that can happen is a blocked toilet. Not only can it make your home unlivable because of the smell, it can also be very unhygienic if left unchecked. Although this may seem like a mini disaster, a clogged toilet is usually something that you can fix yourself by attacking it with a plunger or a toilet auger.

Another plumbing emergency that may occur in your home is a broken pipe. As I'm sure you are aware, there are two types of pipes attached to your home; incoming and outgoing. A break in either of these pipes can be a real disruption in the household. If you notice that there is less pressure coming through your faucets, or if there is no water coming out of them at all, then it's quite likely that you are suffering from a cracked incoming water pipe. Before you do anything else, you are going to need to turn your water off at the mains. If there is no obvious evidence of a water leak, you may need to take a walk around your yard and check for soggy patches on the lawn. Of course, a cracked water pipe is not the only reason that you may have lost pressure. You may want to check with your neighbours to see if they are suffering from the same problem. If they are, then you are going to want to call your local council rather than an emergency plumber. If it is winter, it's also possible that your pipes are frozen, and not cracked at all. These problems can all be cleared out by our Long Island City Plumbers.
